Santa Rosa County tribe hosts Native American powwow

The Santa Rosa County Creek Indian Tribe hosts its 27th pow wow on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 on Willard Norris Road in Milton, Florida.  The powwow featured more than 60 vendors offering food, jewelry and other goods and a day-long dose of celebratory and prayer dances.   Members of Seminole, Choctaw, and Iroquois tribes also participated, as did at least one member of the Navajo Nation in Arizona, according to Santa Rosa County Creek Tribe Vice Chief Dan Helms, one of the organizers of the two-day celebration.
